WHEN TO GO?
Located in the tropical north, Cairns and Port Douglas have hot, humid summers and mild winters with temperatures very rarely getting below 24°C during the day. Whilst it is an incredible place to visit at any time during the year, if you’re wanting to avoid the muggy and wet heat then the months between April to September are highly recommended. You get the best of both worlds during this time of year; sunshine and warm days and smaller crowds as the peak season is over.
Don’t let this stop you from travelling over in the warmer months however, as the October-March season still offers fantastic experiences for all to enjoy.
